Local Historic Tax Credit Sucess Stories – Artspace, A/C Lofts & Remington Lofts

There have been numerous successful historic rehab projects throughout our region, some of which took advantage of historic tax credits. Three recently completed projects that highlight the potential of the Trico Plant include Artspace on Main Street in Buffalo, A/C Lofts located in downtown Buffalo and the Remington Lofts in North Tonawanda. These examples were pulled from a NYSHPO brochure entitled ‘Preservation Works in New York State’ – http://nysparks.com/shpo/preservation-works/documents/WesternNewYorkProject.pdf . Please note that this document only includes projects that utilized historic tax credits; other successful projects like the Larkin Building as well as 701 Seneca Street are not included.

  1. It’s too bad the Medical Campus couldn’t turn some of the Trico building into residential housing for new doctors/students relocating to Buffalo. With all the work most of them do with rotations etc… it would make sense to have housing close by to make it more convenient. Thanks for the great post.
